Day 111: Philadelphia
After spending the morning taking a stroll around the Capital complex in Harrisburg, I took Amtrak to Philadelphia, where I changed trains to get another one to New Haven. I had about an hour to waste in Philadelphia's 30th Street Station, and after lunch, I wandered around exploring the station. I found a big, empty room with a man sitting on the floor and sketching this mural. I watched him for a while and took a few photos of the scene.

Day 98: Dinner of champions
Or another reason I'm happy to be back in the US...Kraft Macaroni and Cheese! I'm still recovering from a slight cold and jet lag, so I couldn't be bothered to cook another full dinner after yesterday's post-birthday feast. Plus I was exhausted from doing load after load of laundry and setting up the wireless router here at the flat. Comfort food at its best!

Day 71: Watching history being made

Although I am a day ahead of most of my friends in the US and the UK, I was lucky enough to wake up in time to watch the election results. Needless to say, I am overjoyed and thrilled. Watching my very own hometown on the TV was moving...I think the most emotional part for me was seeing everyday Chicagoans with tears running down their faces. It may sound twee or sappy, but I am so very proud to be an American. And although I am travelling from Bombay to Pune today via train on a very picturesque trip, there's nothing I'd rather post today than the photo above.
